Arte Sustenibile UNO

Arte Sustenibile UNO is an international art and design exhibition first established in Germany in 2008 at Bad Urach, close to German city of Stuttgart. Conceptional artist and Curator Samuel J. Fleiner invited more than 70 artists, designers and university teams from all over the world. So far 16 nations are involved. The exhibition was designed by referring to the definition of sustainability that was established by United Nations Organization at the two world conferences at Rio (Earth Conference, 1992) and Johannesburg (Rio +10, 2002). Every single piece in the exhibition contains at least one aspect of sustainable development. Themes are the protection of natural resources, energy efficiency, the reduction of greenhouse gases, encouragement towards tolerance and humanitarian aid, reduction of social discrimination and the observation of human rights.
Works that can be found in the exhibition are Solar Art, Wind Kinetics, Development Cooperation, Social Development, Micro Credits, Art in Public Transport, Innovative Bicycles and Human Powered Art, Art from Renewable Resources, Art from Young Prisoners, Energy Efficient Design, Solar Planes and Gender.
